About us

Busoga Consortium Rural Development Agency BUCORUDA  was founded in 1998, and registered with the Uganda Ministry of Internal Affairs under the Non-governmental organisations registration Statute, 1989 ( S5914/2458) as a nongovernmental organisation - NGO

BUCORUDA is a membership organisation for groups of farmers and professionals in agriculture, environmental science, veterinary medicine, human health, education and human rights.

The organisation is headed by a general assembly which appoints a board of trustees, which is given the responsibility of running the organisation through a secretariat.

Objective

The objective is to promote rural development and  transformation, through eco-tourism, agriculture and environmental conservation, education and health / sanitation. There is need for community driven sustainable and replicable environmental based development projects.

Ideology

A nation is developed as people are empowered and self developed severally and or collectively. While development is a necessary attribute of life, national governments should seek to enhance this process, only the people themselves can initiate and carry through authentic and sustainable development. People are poor not because they are ignorant but because their ideas are never tapped to unearth the hidden potential in them.

Vision

Health and productive rural communities, living in a clean  and productive environment and capable of providing the basic needs of life to the members of the community.

Mission

 Contributing towards improvement in rural livelihoods through  the restoration and development of degraded ecosystems and promoting the wellbeing of communities through their own initiatives, recognizing that the collective efforts of our people will determine the success of the projects.

Goal

To improve the livelihoods of rural communities through sustainable management of natural resources especially the use of renewable energies and sustainable agriculture.
